At Yorktown Vineyard, we recognize that attending Church for the first time can often be intimidating. In order to make your experience a bit easier, here's a few things you will experience when you arrive:
- As you enter our Church family home; friendly people (called ushers) will come to greet you with a warm smile and a hello. They will offer you our Sunday Morning bulletin, answer any questions you have and direct you to our sanctuary where the message will be given. This "bulletin" will supply you with today's message and any upcoming announcements.
- You will notice we are dressed comfortably, in anything from "business casual" to "jeans and sneakers". At Yorktown Vineyard, we want you to come "as you are", we want this experience to be stress-free and as enjoyable as possible, so dress comfortably .
- Our services begin with 25-30 minutes of singing, called worship, where we express our love and gratitude to God. The congregation usually sings along with the band (Worship Team), but it is your choice to join in the singing. Or if you are more comfortable to just relax and enjoy the sweet music. Our manner of worship may be different than you are used to. It is common to see people lifting their hands, clapping, kneeling, or crying.
- After worship, the pastor or a senior member will share the morning's announcements. Then there will be a brief time to meet new people before the sermon begins. At this time, the children will be dismissed for Sunday School. Infants and Toddlers can play in our nursery (room at top right of entrance stair case) and children from the ages of 3 - 10 can participate in our Children's Church program. (classrooms downstairs Left/Right from the entrance doors)
- After approximately 5 minutes of a meet/greet, the talk (called the sermon/message), shared by Pastor Earl will begin. The teaching is delivered to help us apply Biblical truths to our every day lives. The message is approximately 30-45 minutes in length, and will end with the opportunity for individuals to receive prayer.
- Upon the closing of the service, we will meet downstairs for coffee, bagels and some social time ( fellowship). It is our hope that you'll pick up your children from their classes, and join us in our fellowship, so we can get to know each other.
"We Look Forward To Meeting You On Sunday!"
